Workaid tackles poverty by supplying disadvantaged people with the tools they need to acquire practical skills and become self supporting. Tools and equipment are collected from all over the UK, refurbished and sent to vocational training projects and self-help groups, mostly in East Africa and in the UK. Remember that Trinity Church is a collection point for WorkAid. Please look at the list of items below to see if you have any that you no longer use and would like to donate. Speak to Chris Townsend first before bringing in bulky items so that we can organize adequate storage for them until such time as we can either deliver the equipment ourselves to Chesham or arrange for a volunteer to collect from us. Please let your friends, family and neighbours know about this scheme so that they can also consider donating equipment to Workaid. We took our first consignment of donated tools, sewing machines, typewriters, mowers and haberdashery to Chesham in August and they were gratefully received by the volunteers there. Please keep the donations coming.
